Society often defines freedom as “do whatever you want,” “follow your heart,” and “if it makes you happy, it can’t be that bad.” The sermon challenges that idea and argues that real freedom is the ability to resist impulses—to have the power to say no even when you could say yes. True freedom isn’t being ruled by desires, emotions, or momentary cravings; it’s choosing what is right, even when it’s difficult.
